India will never become a developed country

India will never become a developed country. I happened to take my lunch out in a
restaurant in Porur today. Porur is in the out skirts of chennai, one of the fastest
developing suburb. Due to IT boom the land prices in Porur have been skyrocketed.
When i entered the hotel, the pathetic condition of the tables and chairs struck me.
Tables were not cleaned properly. Spillage of foodstuff were seen strewn over the
table. When i demanded the waiter to clean the table, he called the cleaning boy to
come over and clean the table. Another horrible sight is the cleaning cloth the boy
used for cleaning. The cloth looked unwashed . The cloth was looked as if the same
was used over and over again from the day one. Another sad thing was The cleaner
boy looked unclean wearing dirtyshirt with out apron. Billions and billions of
microbes would have emitted from his shirt and cleaning cloth. The sight of the
dining place in the restaurent told me about the condition of the kithcen.
It made me feel vomiting. yet i had no choice. I finished eating and came out
wondering whether i might have caught some viruses causing illness. I did not want
5 star service for my money. But is it wrong of me to expect some clean and hygene
environment to dine with. The prices of the foodstuff are equal to that of
Saravanaa bhavan where in they gave such a good and clean environment.

I have visited U.S. a few times, courtesy my daughter. You can find no of Macdonald
outlets there. Each and every outlets are spotless clean and the foodstuffs are
prepared in hygene manner. They are affordable to common man too. Why can't we
have such outlets in a hygene and clean environment in affordable peice?

Sri Chakkra Raja

Today I happened to listen to song Sri Chakkra Raja by Maharajapuram Santhanam. Sri Chakkra Raja is a beautiful Ragamalika. It starts with chenchuriti travels thru haunting punnagavarali then namakriya and ends with sindu bairavi. In fact this song was popularized by Maharajapuram like Bo Shivashampoo. When I searched for lyrics I was astonished to note that it was composed by none other than Agastiyer. A little bit research I found that some was skeptical about it. Only one krithi stands in the name of Agastiyar. Many still maintain that Ramayana and Mahabharata are folklore and not history. Hence Agastiyar is just a folk lore and not historical figure. No direct evidence substantiates the existence of such historical figure. In the absence of such fact who could have composed the Sri Chakkra Raja lyrics?

Listen to Sri Chakkra Raja by Bombay Sisters.

Breezy Bageshri

Bageshri (Hindi: बागेश्री) is a Hindustani classical raga. It is a popular raga of the late night, which is meant to depict the emotion of a woman waiting for reunion with her lover. It is said to have been first sung by Mian Tansen, the celebrated court singer of the Emperor Akbar in the sixteenth century.
Probably this is the raagam that i came to know at my younger days along with raagam kanada, When i came across to listening Katcheries in temples by accident as a boy of 12 to 15 years of age. Those days when i go to my native place for vacation my grand mother forcebly took me to temple for listening katcheries during festivals. Thus happened my interaction with carnatic music.I HAPPENED TO LIKE THUKKADAS WHICH WAS SUNG AT THE FAG END OF THE CONCERT. One of the songs i repeatedly heard during that period was Alai payuthe kanna. When i enquired about the raaga i came to know that it was based on raaga kanada through my uncle. . When i returned to city i would forget every thing and went back to my hindi songs and A.M.Raja songs. At the time Janak Janak Payall Baje was released in chennai. The songs from that film was repeatedly played in Radio Ceylon. One of the song nain se nain naahi milano was my fav no.My faher used to tell me that it was based on raaga Bageshri.( Though chandrakanta.com and asaveri.com do not list that song under the raag Bageshri. I always relay on those websites. I don't know why?). Thus my association with those raagas started.I gave link to Bombay Jayasree's beautiful rendition of Arunachala Kavirayer Kanden kanden seethaiyai and my favourite song from film Janak Janak Payal Baje. Try listen to these songs during late night. That was really heaven. When come to melody Bombay Jayasree is really the melody queen.
